Pearl Denham Ph.D. B.Ed. (Hons) DipSBA. SFP
Having followed a successful academic career spanning 20 years Pearl decided it was time for a new challenge with a less rigid lifestyle. An introductory watercolour painting course at West Dean College proved to be the start of a wonderful journey into the world of drawing and painting. A course in Botanical Illustration under Anne Marie Evans at the Chelsea Physic Gardens followed by a further Diploma course of study with the Society of Botanical Artists laid the foundations for her floral painting. However, a love of nature and its humorous spin-offs is always very near the surface so that her range of art work is constantly evolving and now embraces animals and birds. A new and rapidly growing range of work comes under ‘Nursery Magic’ covering everything that might delight the young at heart – from character teddy bears to dancing frogs. A new grand-child has stimulated the start of a new range of ‘named’ work which can be commissioned as a gift for that very special small person.
