Nichola Steedon was born in Luton in 1989. Since a young age she has always loved painting and visiting art galleries, travelling. She gets inspired when she visits places that fascinate her like Rome and cool contemporary galleries she’s visited in Amsterdam.
Within Nicholas’s work she addresses issues such as recycling, found objects and changing an objects previous function, or changing it to have no function at all into a sculpture or modern piece of artwork. She enjoys experimenting with MDF wood and metal to make sculptural pieces. That can fit well into someone’s home.
Her imagination also drives her work, draws intricate patterns. In the future she hopes to gain lots of experience as an apprentice or as an artist’s assistant, to help her with career choices. Nichola is considering going into teaching after university.
